Advocacy Partners

Atheist Ireland have worked alongside the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Ireland and Evangelical Alliance of Ireland on areas of shared concern relating to human rights, freedom of conscience, and the promotion of an inclusive and secular education system in Ireland. While coming from different religious and philosophical perspectives, these collaborations reflect a shared commitment to equality, pluralism, and respectful dialogue in public policy.

We were members of the campaigns for marriage equality, which removed the ban on same-sex marriage in 2015, and to repeal the 8th Amendment, which removed the ban on abortion in 2018. We led the decade-long campaign which removed Ireland’s blasphemy law in 2018.

We have hosted and attended international atheist and secular conferences with groups such as the Freedom from Religion Foundation in USA, the Council of Ex-Muslims in Britain, the Casimir Liszinski Foundation in Poland, and the Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science.
